2010-2015
The founding of R4S
Raimon Puigjaner, Pablo Sánchez and Pep Tarifa founded Roots for Sustainability (R4S) at the end of 2010 to help address the social challenges of the global economy. At the time, sustainability was largely seen as a reputational and voluntary matter. Our early years were therefore focused on laying the foundations: building our value proposition, developing our methodology, establishing our position and earning credibility in a market where generating positive impact was not yet part of the business mindset. We launched our first international inclusive recycling project as a sustainable business model in Chile and Brazil, while also developing similar initiatives in Barcelona.
2015-2020
Leading the revolution of change
We brought the B Corp movement to Spain and were appointed Country Partner of B Lab® Europe. A paradigm shift began, positioning sustainability strategically on the business agenda. Our team grew steadily as we consolidated long-term relationships with organizations that trusted us as their partner to integrate sustainability into their business. In 2019, we founded B Lab® Spain.
2020-2025
Moving closer to our purpose
We focused our value proposition on two core pillars. First, we specialized in developing corporate positive impact strategies that strengthen business competitiveness and build strong client relationships grounded in trust and rigor. Second, we consolidated our expertise in advancing inclusive business projects in Latin America and Africa, establishing ourselves as a reference in this field. We expanded our activities and became R4S Group through the co-founding of Skills4Impact, our initiative dedicated to developing talent in sustainability and digitalization.

The age of impact
Resilience and positive impact are becoming the new standard for business competitiveness. We specialize in four major areas to provide a holistic response to the future challenges organizations face: anchoring positive impact purpose as a differentiating business factor; activating sustainability and achieving certification to drive tangible, lasting transformation; building more resilient, competitive and inclusive value chains; and addressing challenges related to social inclusion, informality and employability.

We co-founded Skills4Impact as our commitment to empowering people to build positive futures.
Skills4Impact is a collaborative learning hub, supported by a network of specialists, that combines challenge-based practical training, mentoring and AI-powered tutors to develop integrated sustainability and digital skills for professionals and organizations, turning challenges into real-world impact capabilities. Skills4Impact was created to close the gap between climate urgency, technological acceleration and the shortage of integrated human skills by building capabilities at the intersection of three cross-cutting and essential dimensions: sustainability, technology and humanism.
B Lab® Spain
We founded B Lab® Spain — a milestone that helped amplify our positive impact.
In 2015, R4S signed an agreement with B Lab Europe to become its Country Partner and launch the B Corp movement in Spain. In 2019, we further strengthened the initiative by founding B Lab Spain as an independent foundation exclusively dedicated to expanding and advancing the movement locally. Through rigorous, robust and measurable standards, B Lab promotes business transformation to redefine business success: thriving by creating value for people and the planet.
